Park Days: Teddy

Hey guys!

Today is going to be a life update post.
The weather is been really weird since it's spring with all the rain.. then finally super nice warm days...and then somehow miserable flood watches again. :\

But before the rain came back, I managed to squeeze in some fun at my local town center with a friend and her adorable dog Teddy. He was rescued so we don't know what kind of dog he is but he looks like an adorable little fox to me. I had a mini photoshoot.

The weather was so great. My friend Angela and I just walked around with italian ice and Teddy. As you can see, he really enjoyed the sunshine as well. :)

:P Teddy made some friends... some dalmation friends...

Looking off into the skyline... sort of shot! ^.^

Such a happy camper!

I felt the need to add a hat to this image... it's quite suitable for this pose! :)

Haha. That's it for today. The weather has been so dreary so I'm looking forward to sundresses and flipflops soon enough!! :)

Thanks for swinging by everyone and I hope your week is off to a great start!!

Cute Wedding Guestbook Ideas

Hey everyone!

I found some really neat ways to make a guestbook (mostly for a wedding but you can adapt it for other events) and that are unique and clever. Let's get sharing!

Make some kind of abstract artwork with bubbles or squares for people to sign. I saw a cool one with honeycomb shapes -- very neat! Then frame it!It will double as a wedding keepsake and art. You could even get canvases with collages of photos in it with blank spots for signing as well. This bubble artwork is clever since you can match the colors to your wedding or to your house interior.

instead of a traditional guest book, have people sign blank puzzle pieces and then frame it!

guest book

Get blank puzzle pieces for people to sign and then match them up with your partner as you read through them. You can mount them down and frame them as well. Consider printing an image of you two onto a big puzzle that has either a lot of light or a lot of darkness. Then, have them sign with thin sharpies of the opposite color. Of course, set aside the pieces with your faces and body for safe keeping.

Have your guests sign some purdy rocks! (Only if you can think of something creative to do with them afterwards). These are pretty cool for a rock garden or some kind of display but they do take up more space!

I really love this idea of a polaroid guestbook. All your guests can take selfies or have a photographer stand by with some empty frames and silly props. Hang them up to dry and to display. They can sign on the bottom of the photos and you can scrapbook them or do something fun with them all.

sign in book

Bring in a new set of jenga and have everyone sign a block. Every time you play this game, you get to read all the lovely wishes people wrote down for your wedding date. The only problem I have with this one is when the fade or get to old. They aren't very display-able since it would stay in a box.

guest book

I love this idea of getting a favorite children's book or any book for the matter and getting people to sign around the pages. It would be like a yearbook. If you wanted it to be more personalized, you could turn your engagement photoshoots into a book and have them sign that instead. It would double as a photo album and guestbook!

Aren't these ideas pretty cool? What is you favorite guestbook idea? Do you have any others outside of the ones I mentioned? Feel free to share!

Skin Junkie Review: Favorite Moisturizers

Hey everyone!

Hope Mother's Day yesterday went well for all you mothers out there. You girls are rad and deserve lots of hugs. Happy Belated Mother's Day!

I'm just continuing my skin junkie session with my favorite moisturizers. Now... I really like all-in-one products if they get the job done so I will be reviewing just moisturizers and other multi-tasking wonders today.

Kiss My Face Olive & Aloe Moisturizer, Fragrance Free - 16 fl oz

For every morning, I wash my face, use toner, and moisturize with Kiss My Face's natural Olive and Aloe moisturizer. I really love this product! It comes in all sorts of scents and this one is fresh, silky, and refining. It has just the right amount of thickness that makes applying easy and creamy at the same time. It dries quickly, leaving your face feeling taut and tight. It also leaves no greasy oils on your face either! If I decide to step out, I can just put on sunblock over this moisturizer with no problem. You can get 16 fl oz for $12-- cheap!

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream! Skin Perfecting Tinted Moisturizer with Sunscreen, Fair to Light - 2.5 fl oz

Lately, I have been using Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream with 15 SPF tinted moisturizer on days where I leave the house. This is a fairly new product on the market and it smells like cucumbers... I love it! It's a light coverage for BB cream and since I like leaving the house looking like the natural me, this product is perfect for moisturizing and protecting my skin from the sun. If you want more coverage, this isn't for you since it is a shear tint but it's perfect for people who want some skin pigmentation to be evened out but not caked all over your face. This was $15 for 2.5 fl oz and easy to pack for trips and on the go with it's twist on cap.

Jergens Overnight Repair Nightly Restoring Moisturizer - 16.8 fl oz

At night, I wash up as usual and love to finish off with Jergens Overnight Repair Moisturizer. Oh my gosh. It's 16.8 fl oz for only $6-7 which is such a bargain! I just have it on my dresser and squirt one notch full for my face and neck before I sleep. It's buttery and creamy texture is easy to massage into your skin. It adds a moist buoyancy to your skin after and dries within a few minutes.

Love all my natural skin products!! :) What moisturizers do you use and why? Share!

Skin Junkie Review: Face Masks

Hi Guys!

I realized that I am such a skin junkie but I never talk about it on my blog when it's something tht I feel comfortable about giving others advice about and just sharing great products.

Let me start off with some background info about me and my skin:

I am 22 years old with combination oily/dry skin that and sensitive and scars easily.

I started developing some mixed skin type problems towards the end of high school that was triggered by various stressors and hormones. I had rosecea, pigmented, uneven complexion, and a lot of awful scarring. Now that I am older and know more about my skin, I treat it as best as I can and take note of anything that irritates it.

Today, I'm just going to run through some of my favorite facial masks. You should use masks at least once a week to hydrate your skin and bring back the youthful glow that gets lost in long work or school days. Plus, it tightens pores and purges them of dirt, trapped bacteria, etc.

Here are some drugstore products that I really adore and use RIGHT NOW. One is drugstore price and one is handmade and all natural. I will explain home made skin masks after.

I am currently in love with Freeman's Feeling Beautiful Facial Enzyme Mask in Pineapple.

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Enzyme Mask, Pineapple

Starting off, it smells AMAZING. It's straight up chilled pineapples being smothered all over your face in a cool watery gel like texture that's pretty much clear and easy to apply. I like that this mask isn't chunky and no seeds or exfoliants get stuck under my nails during application. It applies smoothly and you simply just hang out with it on for 10 minutes and rinse it off. It would be great during the summer for sunburn or sun damage.

This is 6 fl oz for only $4!!! And there are so many other flavors!! :D

Moving onto a chunkier and all natural vegan product, lush's magnaminty mask!

http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/110/a/AAAAAh6YejQAAAAAARCvYQ.jpg?v=1213807729000I have been a huge fan of magnaminty ever since my friend who works at lush made me try it out. It's not just vegan but handmade by workers all around the world who are getting paid minimum wage for their services. All containers are eco-friendly and it's simply a wonderful company. Magnaminty is thick and chunky with gritty seeds and a feel good minty smell. It makes you want to eat it actually... haha. You don't have to refrigerate this lush product (like most of their masks) and you can use it on your back or trouble spots. It hardens on your face and will start to crack after your ten minutes is up. It's portable and great for travels since the container has a screw on lid. Since this is handmade, it is pricier! This container is $20.

Those are currently my rotated skin masks and whenever I finish one up, I purchase another one. :D
Both of these face masks leaves your face feeling rejuvenated and tight. Just make sure to use some toner and moisturizer to seal in the awesomeness. I know that it can be costly taking care of your skin but you don't always have to spend much to get a nice facial at home weekly.

For quick natural remedies at home for a skin pick me up, you can easily forage your kitchen and make a wonderful face mask as well. A lot of people don't know it, but cucumbers are not the only fruits you can lay on your face. Actually, cucumbers probably don't do much compared to tomatoes or or other citrus fruits.

http://stylezplus.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/fruit-msk.jpg All you need to do is find a ripe fruit, slice or smash it up and apply it to your face!

Most fruit help tighten pores and clear your uneven complexion with natural bleaching agents. If you have scarring to deal with, lemons, limes, and other citrus fruits are your best bet!

If you feel adventurous, you can mix and match to create your own face mask as well. Use olive oil or honey to create a friendly mix with one of your fruits. Of course, citrus fruits won't mash well in a mix but a ripe peach or banana can definitely go with some natural honey. You can even turn it into a natural sugar scrub just by adding pure sugar (not splenda or substitute sugar).

One time face masks can be anywhere from $1-$3. Why not just use the supplies available at home? Besides, fruit smells good and you can even eat the leftovers. :P

That's all for today's skin care tips everyone. If there's anything you would like me to cover, leave me some suggestions! Thanks for reading guys.

Cheers,
Dana
